Father Assaults Skateboarding Kids

May 25th, 2006

This video may not be suitable for young children. Ask your parents if you’re a young child.

This video begins with a mild confrontation between an adult and some kids who are skateboarding somewhere he obviously doesn’t want them. Then, we see the same adult return to the scene to actually attack the kid who is skateboarding. I’ll never stop being shocked at the lengths to which people will go to make fools of themselves. The saddest part is that all of this happens in front of the adult’s little kids. Sounds like somebody has anger issues…

If I were that old man I would have beat that stupid ass punk kid into the ER and to fuck with all you emo losers commenting on this, kids like this are the epitome of everything going wrong with the world.

Right…. so it’s not at all over reacting to attack a person just cause they’re annoying you? OK, that gives a lot of people reason to want to attack you then. How is anything anyone has said emo? Were you the guy in the film by any chance?

What the heck, no where in that video or anything to do with this video clip was there “emo” brought into this. This “Mithotyn” needs to get a life and get the facts right. This video makes me seriously mad, I hope you the kids sued and or told somebody about this. I don’t care if they were skateboarding where they aren’t supposed. You can always find another spot, but this guy seriously needs to get what he deserves. Use the video and take him to the authorities. He just assaulted a kid. He needs do some jail time.

it is plainly ovbious from the video that this guy had soem other problem with skateboarders. I doubt that any legal action could occur as a result of this, as 1, he warned them once before, and 2, it was probably ILLEGAL to skateboard on the property of that apartment complex (see that big building in the background). I dont think these kids are “emo”, but seriously, if you spend your time videotaping crappy skateboarding, you need a life. espcially if you are dumb enough to hang around after you have been threatened once. those kids should have lef tin the first place.

Anyone who seriously thinks that guy was more in the wrong than the kids, needs to get their heads checked out, or really needs to stop skateboarding.

Regardless if it was illegal to skate there or not, that man assulted a minor.

  • 8. RC  |  August 25th, 2006 at 9:27 am

He didn’t assault anything. He took the board, then tried to wrestle the board away from the little piece of crap. He didn’t even bitch slap the kid, which is what he really deserved. You want assault, go skate in East L.A. or Compton in front of some thugs. Then you’d get your assault. Don’t forget to film it!

    A) No assault occured. However, claim could be made that “inappropriate force” was used. In any event, it is not prosecutable, or even actionable in any serious court of law.
    B) Tresspassing did occur on the part of the skateboarders. This is prosecutable, although unlikely to be, unless kids caused actual property damage.
    C) All-in-all both parties acted irresponsibly. The adult should have contacted the facility authorities as he threatened to do, and let them handle it. The kids should not have been there in the first place, they were trespassing.
    D) The fact that the kids chose to break the law in the first place is indicative of exactly what Mithotyn was talking about, that kids today are allowed to “get away” with disrespecting authority with no repurcussions. This “teaches” them it is OK to disrespect authority figures. And THAT causes problems in our schools, our neighborhoods, and our societies.
    E) Conclusion: The video should be shown to the authorities, and the kids should be prosecuted for trespassing. Maybe they will learn a valuable lesson.
PS. And if I was the dad of one of those boys, I’d perform my own version of prosecution, first on my son for disrespecting the no skateboarding policy on the property, and second, on the adult for his use of “inappropriate force” - I’d return the favor. I doubt he’d consider it again….

By the way, I’m male, 22, in law school, not married, and the single father of a 2 year old son.

If i politley told someone to stop skating and they attempted to intimidate me like that kid did i would smack seven shades of crap out of him.

These were kids. How old did they look to you? That man had no authority over those children. I guess that’s how you wacko war vets want your children disiplined. I tried a different tactic. My children were never physically reprimanded. My daughter is graduating from Yale in two years. She’ll be counseling your male children who have taken a sexual liking to men that’ll be rough with them. Emo would be the appropriate term for that.
