Dhauladhars

The Dhauladhars are a branch of the main Himalayan chain of mountains. Its peaks rise to almost 19,000 feet. (For comparison, the highest peak in the United States of America is less than 15,000 feet.)

Elections in India are something to see and hear. Strange noises heard from a mile away end up being the shouts of a parade marching through (and therefore obstructing) narrow streets.

And when you finally get to see the parade of supporters, you can’t help but cheer them on.

Women Making Rugs

This is one of the most memorable sights I experienced in India. So many things to look at! And the woman in the very front was special. When I asked if it’s alright for me to take a photo, her response was so clear and confident; her voice so soft.

Goats and Sheep!

Driving through the hills of Himachal, our car was stopped dead in its tracks by this herd of goats and sheep.

Of of the goats thought I’d stolen her kid, so she chased me into the car. That was kind of embarrassing.
